  • Would you welcome White Castle w/ open arms if it came back?

It started here in the 1940's and I would welcome it back.

I've never seen a White Castle. I've heard it mentioned by the Beastie Boys and seen it in a movie that was only worth seeing because of NPH.
Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
    RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.
Save Shocker Sports - A rallying cry

It's hard to see NPH as a just balls out, coke sniffer party boy now that he came out of the closet. And the sequel's coming out soon too.

I barely remember it in early 80s. Was it along East Kellogg near Rock road???

Bring 'em back... I just love those little sliders! I can already see a WSU Baseball/WhiteCastle marketing campaign.

I've had a White Castle burger before and really didn't think it was very special.

Early 80's, what are you talking about. It was founded in 1921 and the headquarters moved from Wichita in 1933.

They have been gone from Wichita for at least 50 years.

Yea, I cried my little eyes out when my momma said White Castle was a leavin’ Wichita and headin’ to Chicago in 1933. Yep, me and my brothers (my actual brothers) and sisters all grew up eating Sliders. I remember my first Slider in 1921 as though it was today. Even cousin Lee Bob loved eatin’ Sliders. In fact, he spent a lot of time in our 2-holer after eating a pan of greasy Sliders.
                  :D

P.S. Actually, it's spelled Slyders... and they're damned good!
                  SFL is back!

                      Chicago?

                      Try Columbus, Ohio.

White Castle closed all thier stores in Wichita around 1938 or 1939 and hasn't opened one here since. Closest was a couple in KC in the mid 1990's, but those failed to make money.

Yes, I would eat at White Castle once a week if here.

Add to that list Whataburger as well.

We don't even have a few of the best fast food joints I would take before a White Castle

Chick-Fil-A (a real one.. not on campus)
                          Whataburger
go ahead and add Hardees too.
Steak and Shake (semi-fast food) ... Freddy's has monopolized the city and Steak and Shake is better IMO. I do like Freddy's however.

What's depressing is we used to have two of those four here.

                              I want Whataburger.

Last time I seen a hardees was when I was on the turnpike however I believe they tore that one down.
