Chiefs Draft Talk

I know it dont start til april, but still im pretty hyped about this years draft, since its prolly the most important draft for the chiefs that i can remember. We wont have to wait 12 hours til the chiefs finally get the pick, i guess thats one plus after a nightmare of season that we just experienced. They still dont know whether we pick 4th or 5th. They dont do the coin flips until the weekend of the NFL combine. But anysways here my top 5 needs for the chiefs:

1. Offensive Tackle
2. Cornerback
3. Defensive Tackle
4. Offensive Guard
5. Linebacker

I was looking at some Mock Draft and this is one of the better ones and they have us taking Jake Long OT from Michigan. That would be a dream draft pick for us.

Jake Long would make way too much sense for KC to draft. If they did, I'd be excited. But they won't.

You forgot Wide Receiver, Kicker, Quarterback, Fullback and Center.

OT is obviously the biggest need. Then they need to find at least one young CB. After that I'd say WR or LB.

As of right now i think the chiefs have 3 options for their first pick. Now i may change my thinking after the Senior Bowl and combine.

1. Draft Jake Long (if hes there) this would be the best option of course

2. Draft down and get a extra 2nd or 3rd round pick and Draft Ryan Clady Junior OT from Boise State. He is moving up the draft charts fast, and i have seen him the top 10 in couple draft charts.

3. Would be to draft Sedrick Ellis DT USC, i know this isnt our biggest need, but it is a need, i think this is what our Defense is missing and that is a impact Defensive tackle.


Now if Long is there, you gotta take him. But im kind of split between option 2 and 3, i would take either option and be happy with it.

if we seriously picked Henne in the first round, i would seriously have think about never watching another chiefs game.

I believe the plan is to draft defense and try not to let the other team score, then pick a kicker up to win all 16 games 3-0

Long is the best option but he'll probably be gone by the time we pick, as StL is in need of another OT. - We really don't need another DT unless its Glenn Dorsey, as we wasted our 2nd and 3rd rounders on pathetic wastes of space in Turk and Tank last season. Plus, Ellis is a small DT in NFL terms as he's only 6'1". We need an OL in the 1st round,whether it's Long or Clady. There will be many good WRs still available in the 2nd round and we should go with one there, unless a stud CB has dropped. WE NEED WRs BADLY! Parker and Webb are not going to cut it as 2/3 WRs. 3rd round we either go OL, CB or WR, depending on what we drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds. I figure we don't really need a DT since there are solid players out in FA we can get (Boone from last year).
