Actually, this isn't completely true. There are Trumsters that haven't vaccinated, but they aren't close to the largest group, African Americans are. Then Hispanics, then the anti-vax group that includes Trumpsters. Most Trump supporters vaccinated, the media tells us otherwise. The NYC BLM protest should have brought this into focus. I have mentioned this in previous posts.

The most important thing in getting more peoe vaccinated is depoliticizing it, including blaming Trumpsters, and educating minorities. Minorities, while mostly democrats have zero trust of the government and even less of government vaccines. It wasn't that long ago the government used minorities as guinnea pigs. Trust will be a hard sell.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

A year later, after their propaganda-induced fog has lifted, and their tears of ignorance have long dried, they will thank those that helped keep them safe. Despite their best efforts to win Darwin awards, they will live on.

As far as Sleepy Joe not testing migrants, I have no opinion/knowledge/interest on the subject. It's likely just partisan spin to rally the base; partly true, partly false. It will incense those who never see the forest for the trees. To criticize Joe for being lax on the pandemic would be like criticizing Trump for not Tweeting enough. It's a non-starter.

We had a VERY good chance after the East Coast completely shut down the spread around April, to write a different pandemic story in this country. But then Trump flipped, and the big red states (Florida/Tx/Az, etc) decided to go full Covidiot and act as virus nurseries during the summer wave, preparing for the reseeding back into the East Coast and expansion into the West. It was so clear to "us" (the informed + health care experts) as we watched it unfold.

But there's no use crying over spilled milk. It's time to get on with our lives while the political Covidiots desperately attempt to rewrite history before the upcoming elections. I won't forget though. It's gonna take a LONG time for me to forget what my former party did.
You don’t know how dumb you sound when you keep thinking that a virus can be “contained”. Absolutely moronic.

        • I think those numbers are a few months old as, according to world o meter, the Us is at 400K+ deaths and the world is at ~ 4 million. This would be in the last 18 months or so.

Smallpox, by contradiction, killed 500 million in the 20th century.

And vaccinations by race are extremely close despite what the Right wants to portray. Frankly it's quite surprising you don't find a large vaccine gap in the two minority communities that also happen to be the poorest. Poverty and poor healthcare choices are correlated. The reasoning can be debated.

KFF is collecting and analyzing data on COVID-19 vaccinations by race/ethnicity to gain increased insight who is receiving the vaccine and whether some groups are facing disparities in vaccination.

Hispanics make up 17% of the U.S. population and also 17% of the those who've received one dose.
              Blacks make up 12% of the U.S. population and ... .. .. 10%... .. ...
              White's make up 61% and ... .. .. 60% have received one dose.

I ALSO believe that ALMOST ALL racist charges are a smokescreen (usually) that the left throws up when they are receiving BAD publicity whether it be in Afghanistan, on the southern border, when police are being attacked and defunded, or COUNTLESS other times when convenient for the liberal, socialist left to attack others. My memory doesn’t allow me to remember, but have you defended others like you did the Leftists who mandated these restaurant laws against black minorities?

Distrust of the govt. is what is leading most to not vaccinate. It ain't a hard concept. The govt. has a bad history of jabbing inmates and minorities with all sorts of crap under the unbrella of research. Also, antivaxers reside on both ends of the political spectrum, being honest, you can't lay blame of all white unvaccinated on the right or Trumpsters, either. I know of several leftists that are unvaccinated. I shake my head when I hear them 'splain why they are different. If getting people vaccinated is the goal, lets end the political fingerpointing and work on building the trust of everyone that hasn't gotten the shots.

What are you talking about? First, the restaurants in question aren't mandating anything, NYC is forcing them to. So no, I do not support that and never have. I do support a businesses right to choose how that want to do business and who they want to do business with. If you, as a private business, want to enforce masks or vaccine status BS then you have every right to do so. People have to right to disagree and call you out and support your competitors. If a business wants to refuse to do business with you because you're wearing a mask, as dumb as that idea is as well, they have every right to do so and you can take your money and give it to a competitor.

And I don't think any of these mandates were targeting minorities. I think the left is so oblivious to what's actually going on that they thought it would only impact Trump supporters because they have their heads so far up their collective asses and didn't realize that something like 70% of the black community in NYC is unvaccinated. It seems like the left, especially in areas where the overwhelming majority votes D, live in such a bubble that fail to see reality.

And I'd love for you to point out just one place where I ever supported Leftist mandates. Hell, point out where I've supported any government mandates from the right or left. That should keep you quite occupied as I've never done such a thing.

                        • I'll go back to my original point from another direction.

My original point was that Conservatives have been charged Racism for a long time. Sure it got worse when Trump was elected. After that, most POV's that weren't leftist, were met with a charge of Racism. Blacks like Ben Carson and Tim Scott were charged with Racism, and referred to as Uncle Tom's. Mike Pence, Kristi Noem, Greg Abbott, Rand Paul, Ron DeSantis, etc. have ALL been charged with Racism by leftists who disagree with Conservative opinions and/or policies. It started way before Trump, but it has certainly become a GoTo when the left disagrees with anything that Conservatives say or do with regards to Abortion, Border Laws, Pandemic shutdowns, etc.

When the Socialists, leftists BLM group charged the leftist Government of New York with Racism over this mask law, this was the first time I can think of that the left charged the left with Racism, and you came to the defense of the leftist government of New York (and I agree that this was not a law given out over racism but instead it was done because of the leftist nature of New York). I also pointed out that very few time that Racism has been charged toward anyone has it truly been about Racism. It has been over a Conservative opinion, decision, or law. You may have, but I don't remember you coming to the defense of Conservatives when charged with Racism in the past, but you need to be consistent. Conservativism is not synonymous with racism, no matter how many times it is stated.

Most charges of racism are just complete BS no matter who claims it or where it's directed. It's a shame, because it does a disservice to and takes legitimacy away from actual racist events or people when they do pop up.

And I'm still not sure where I ever came to the defense of the NY government in any aspect of this. I'm am against any such governmental actions and have been pretty open and honest about that. I was also against Florida trying to prevent businesses from choosing to enforce a mask or vax requirement. NY as a state can get pretty insane when it comes to government and that's because of the huge leftist population in and around NYC. DeBlassio has been one of the absolute worst mayors in the country and he's obviously gotten pretty bad when leftist organizations are attacking him and the council. But again, I don't ever recall defending their political actions. Cold sure as hell would and probably has, but he and I are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to Covid enforcement and the governmental level.

Yes. Again, I was addressing the pre-vax era... where the wheels actually came off the mitigation effort and divided the nation. Around spring 2020.

But there are clearly anti-vaxxers on both sides. The loudest ones have ABSOLUTELY been the Trumpers. They are even on talk radio. I believe 5 or 6 of them have died so far this year.

What's escaping the conversation is all the vaxxed Trumpers who are ready to go to war for the anti-vaxxers. They are effectively anti-vax by proxy.

And please SPARE ME the MuH LiBeRtY speech from the peanut gallery. Your point will never be taken from this fellow.

I don't go the my liberty route. It has been established by the supreme court that govts. can require vaccinations. I hope we don't get to that point, I just want the volume on the argument turned down. Its not just the Trumpsters, most of them are vaccinated. But listening to the news, they are the only ones. We aren't going to get more people vaccinated if we keep shouting at the Trumpsters.

I had covid, I had the jabs. My wife had covid, had the jabs, and currntly has the delta varient. She is asymptomatic. I got tested again today, I'm still negative. I don't want the sh¹t again, asymptomatic or not. I want everyone vaccinated, but the vast majority of pts. at Nebraska Medicine are unvaccinated minorities. How do you talk to them without being called a racist? I don't know. But we aren't going to win that battle shouting at a bunch of knucklehead Trumpsters, they aren't listening and it's so much noise pollution.

                                Today's results:
