Budget cuts are forcing Nevada to reduce expenditures approximately $1.5 million next year. Typically, a school would accomplish this by cutting sports/scholarships. However, Nevada only has 6 men's sports (Division 1 minimum). Additionally, cutting any women's sport would put the college out of compliance with Title IX.
Sounds like their move to the Mountain West conference in 2012 is in doubt.
